One of the arrested individuals, Tanner Castro, was a prosecutor at the time of his apprehension, as reported by KLAS-TV. Police allege that Castro intended to meet an underage girl at a park and engage in sexual activities in his vehicle.
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson confirmed that Castro was hired on September 2 but was promptly terminated following his arrest. During his communication with the supposed underage girl, Castro used the alias “Rogue 96,” according to law enforcement officials.
The arrest report revealed that the suspects often encourage children to produce explicit material and coordinate meetings for sexual contact. In Castro’s case, he agreed to meet the decoy at a predetermined location and engaged in sexual activity in the backseat of his car.
Castro now faces a charge of statutory sexual seduction. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department urges parents to have open discussions with their children about the dangers of online interactions with strangers. Regularly monitoring their children’s online activities is also advised to protect them from potential harm.
