Zach Bryan wears ‘Free Palestine’ shirt at Gillette Stadium

Country singer Zach Bryan performed at gillette Stadium wearing a “Free Palestine” shirt, seemingly in response to stadium owner Robert Kraft’s involvement in removing rapper Macklemore from Ed Sheeran’s tour after Macklemore made pro-Palestinian remarks. During the concert, Bryan broke the venue’s attendance record with 73,538 fans, though his shirt was not visible in official photos. Bryan’s drummer, Nate Head, wore a jersey with “Palestine” and “Hind Rajab,” a young Palestinian girl who was killed in Gaza after her family’s car was attacked by Israeli forces. Bryan has previously engaged in politics, notably criticizing Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem over a song about ICE. The article also details the controversy surrounding Macklemore’s removal, including the NFL owners’ pressure and subsequent solidarity actions from other artists. Additionally, there is mention of media coverage of Hind Rajab’s death and related political debates.

The New England Patriots owner banded together with other NFL owners to pressure Sheeran to remove Macklemore. The British singer’s opening acts withdrew from the tour in solidarity with the rapper.

While performing at Gillette Stadium, Bryan broke the attendance record with 73,538 fans, according to the venue’s social media. The stadium posted photos of Bryan but did not mention the singer’s shirt, which was not visible.

Bryan’s drummer, Nate Head, wore a jersey featuring “Palestine” on the front and the words “Hind Rajab” on the back, according to Variety.

Hind Rajab was a 5-year-old Palestinian girl who was found dead in February 2024 after going missing. The girl was reportedly killed after Israeli forces fired on her family’s car in Gaza, according to the Associated Press.
