Report: Women seeking employment in Bill Gates’ private office subjected to inappropriate sexual inquiries.
A New Report Reveals Disturbing Questions Asked to Women Applying for Jobs in Bill Gates’ Private Office
A recent report published in The Wall Street Journal has shed light on a concerning practice within Microsoft founder Bill Gates’ private office. According to the report, women seeking employment were subjected to inappropriate and invasive questions of a sexual nature.
The investigation revealed that while several women reported being asked probing questions about their sexual histories, no men experienced the same line of questioning. The report, based on information from job candidates and individuals familiar with the hiring process, disclosed that candidates were asked about their past drug use and other personal aspects of their lives.
Some women even shared that they were asked about extramarital affairs, their preferences in pornography, and whether they had explicit photos of themselves on their phones. Shockingly, one source mentioned that some women were asked if they had ever engaged in activities such as “dancing for dollars,” while another was questioned about having a sexually transmitted disease.
Allegations of Inappropriate Behavior
This is not the first time allegations of inappropriate behavior have been associated with Bill Gates. In 2021, The New York Times reported that Gates had pursued relationships with women who worked for Microsoft or the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. These allegations date back to 2000 and have raised concerns about Gates’ conduct.
Furthermore, Gates had developed a friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted pedophile and alleged sex trafficker. Although Gates has claimed that his meetings with Epstein were solely business-related, reports suggest that they played a role in Melinda Gates’ decision to initiate divorce proceedings.
A Journal report even revealed that Epstein attempted to use an affair with a Russian chess player to blackmail Gates.
Denial and Legal Implications
A spokeswoman for Gates’ private office, known as Gates Ventures, denied any knowledge of inappropriate questions being asked during the screening process. She stated that no employment offer had ever been rescinded based on such information and that it would be a violation of their agreement with the screening contractor.
The screenings are conducted by a firm called Concentric Advisors, which claims to follow all legal requirements regarding employment screening. A representative from Concentric stated that they do not ask questions about sexual or drug histories, but candidates may voluntarily disclose such information.
However, legal experts have raised concerns about the legality of asking questions related to health or psychiatric history, as they are prohibited by the federal Americans With Disabilities Act. While asking about sexual histories is not explicitly prohibited, taking adverse action based on that information could lead to legal challenges.
Employment lawyer Lindsay Halm expressed her disapproval of asking such questions, stating that they are deeply offensive and irrelevant to a person’s ability to perform a job.
It is crucial to address these disturbing allegations and ensure that all job candidates are treated with respect and fairness throughout the hiring process.
