Woke Detergent Company Calls To Defund Police, Says George Floyd Was Murdered, And That White Supremacy ‘Embedded In Our Country’

On Monday, as the jury began their deliberations following the closing statements during the trial of Derek Chauvin regarding the death of George Floyd, household supplies company “Seventh Generation” posted on their Instagram account, describing George Floyd’s death as “murder.”

“We continue to face deep racial inequity in our society as Derek Chauvin’s trial comes to a close for the murder of George Floyd,” the post graphic read. “And as more Black and Brown lives continue to be lost at the hands of the police, including Daunte Wright, Adam Toledo and the countless unnamed.”

“Stopping the continued killing of Black and Brown people at the hands of the police demands we divest from police and invest in systems that build community health and well-being, especially in BIPOC communities who bear the biggest burden of systemic racism in policing,” the post continues.

“We support defunding the police like we support keeping fossil fuels in the ground,” the post added. “It’s imperative we divest from systems of harm and invest in regenerative systems for all.”

“Seventh Generation commits to supporting efforts to #DefundthePolice,” the post concluded.

This is not the first time Seventh Generation has posted woke — and arguably inaccurate — rhetoric to their Instagram page. In March, they posted “We are heartbroken by these acts of violence,” in response to the mass shooting in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Six Asian women lost their lives,” the post continued. “Now is the time to hold the victims and their families in our hearts and in our light. We’re calling on our allies across communities of color to stand with us in grief and solidarity against racist violence in all its forms. When our most vulnerable community members are targeted, we all need to band together.”

In the days following the U.S. Capitol riots on January 6, Seventh Generation claimed that white supremacy “has been embedded in our country since its founding.”

“This past Wednesday began as a bright day for democracy as we celebrated record voter turnout in Georgia due to incredible organizing efforts, resulting in the election of the first Black and Jewish Senators from the state. Hours later, we witnessed horrific attacks on the US Capitol in an effort to overthrow the results of a free and fair presidential election,” the post read.

“As we reckon with these violent events and brazen attempts to undermine our democracy, it is evident that we must also face what has led us here — an enduring culture of white supremacy. It is time for us as citizens, businesses and political leaders to all take action to dismantle systemic racism,” Seventh Generation continued.

“While the culture of white supremacy has been embedded in our country since its founding, we recognize that this ideology has fostered and grown over recent years, resulting in the events that transpired this week. Immediate action is needed to truly create a society that is equitable and just for all.”
