The White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday was a relatively normal and low-key event, with no displays of contempt for Christianity or drag queens, but it did include a minor scandal when Gritty, the mascot of the Philadelphia Flyers, performed a twerk. Many opinions have been voiced since then, with some believing that twerking is appropriate at events such as BLM riots or abortion rallies, and others, like the author of this article, who thinks that a family-oriented event like the White House Easter Egg Roll is not the right place for such acts.

It’s worth noting that the theme of the egg roll was “eggucation,” and first lady Jill Biden expressed her happiness about the event, stating that “it meant the world to me to have families enjoy a fun-filled day of learning and exploring at the White House.”

Some are not surprised that a representative of Philadelphia would act in such a way, as the city is known for its passionate and sometimes rude sports fans.

Ultimately, though, what we can take away from this incident is that paying for an education doesn’t necessarily equate to having class.
