Whoopi Goldberg Comes Unglued as Heckler Calls Her an “Old Broad” on “The View”

The ABC Talk Show was a disaster! “The View” Whoopi Goldberg retaliated against a caller this week, and it was again “an old broad.”

Heckler’s Goldberg Reacts

Entertainment Weekly When she tried to open the show on Wednesday morning, one audience member was shouting at her.

“We’re happy to see ya’ll. Cool, well, go on and have a seat,” Goldberg added that the audience was “very happy.” Then, she turned to one of the women in the audience to address something that she had said. 

“Did you just call me an old broad? Yeah?” Goldberg was visibly furious.

The camera cut to the woman wearing a fur hat, a 67-year-old former Sister Act Star stated “She said, ‘You old broad,’ and I was like, hey, it’s Wednesday, and I am an old broad, and happy about it!”

Sunny Hostin, Sunny’s co-host, tried to calm Goldberg by reminding him that being an “old broad” Better than “the alternative,” This could be a reference to being dead.

“The alternative is not attractive to any of us,” Goldberg retorted. “We all want to be old broads and old dudes, you know?”

The camera kept cutting to the heckler incessantly throughout the rest of the show. The video below shows the awkward moment.

Goldberg’s Embarrassing Fat Suit Situation

Over the last few months, Goldberg seemed particularly sensitive about her appearance. In October, Goldberg reacted to a critic of her movie. Till who claimed that Goldberg wore a fat suit to portray Alma Carthan, the grandmother of Emmett Till. 

Goldberg was unhappy about this claim. She said that she did wear a suit but not a fat suit and that her weight was just her actual body. 

“There was a young lady who writes for one of the magazines, and she was distracted by my fat suit, in her review,” Goldberg stated at the time that according to Variety. “I don’t really care how you felt about the movie, but you should know that was not a fat suit, that was me. That was steroids. Remember last year? I assume you don’t watch the show, or you would know that was not a fat suit.”

“It’s okay to not be a fan of movie, but you want to leave people’s looks out,” She continued. “Just comment on the acting. And if you have a question, ask somebody. I’m sure you didn’t mean to be demeaning.”

Goldberg’s Holocaust Controversy

This comes after weeks of calls for ABC’s firing Goldberg “The View” due to her once again saying that the Holocaust was not about race in an interview at the end of December.

Goldberg was suspended “The View” Two weeks in jail for similar remarks about the Holocaust made February 2013 and even though she later retracted and apologized, her fans were stunned when she apparently doubled down on what many perceived as her antisemitic views.

After a difficult few months, Goldberg’s heckler finally hit the nail on the head when she called her an “anonymous.” “old broad!” Given Goldberg’s frequent outbursts and controversies, it remains to be seen how long ABC will continue to think it’s worth keeping this “old broad” around.
