White House slaps down rumors Trump is at Walter Reed
The White House has denied rumors circulating over the weekend that President Donald Trump was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Unfounded speculation poured in from some X users that Trump was at the hospital after the White House called a press lid around 11 a.m. Eastern time on Saturday, meaning Trump would not make any remarks or appear before the press for the rest of the day. Fueling those health rumors further was Trump’s decision to stay in Washington, D.C., for the Easter weekend instead of heading to Mar-a-Lago.
Hours after the speculation first emerged, White House communications director Steven Cheung took to X to assure the public Trump has been working ever since the lid was called.
“There has never been a President who has worked harder for the American people than President Trump. On this Easter weekend, he has been working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office, Cheung said. “God Bless him.”
The White House’s rapid response X account also addressed the rumors more directly, calling them “insane conspiracy theories” and labeling left-wing commentator Ed Krassenstein, who first posted about them, a “weapons-grade moron.”
“Deranged liberals cook up insane conspiracy theories when [Trump] goes 12 hours without speaking to press. (They said nothing when Biden routinely went 12 days without speaking to press) Fear not! President Trump literally never stops working,” the account posted.
Trump last visited Walter Reed in October, when he underwent “advanced imaging” that was “perfectly normal and revealed absolutely no abnormalities,” according to his doctor, Sean Barbabella. He also took a cognitive test at the time, which he has said he “ACED.”
WHERE TRUMP’S DC RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS STAND IN COURT
No visit has been confirmed since then.
Some minor medical problems have emerged since last year, however, such as a rash on the right side of Trump’s neck, continuous swelling on his ankles due to chronic venous insufficiency, and heavy bruising on his hands.
