Biden Mocks Press Corps at White House Correspondents’ Dinner

The annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner is meant to celebrate the First Amendment and raise money for journalism scholarships. However, President Joe Biden used the event to mock the press corps who cover him. During his speech, Biden said, “In a lot of ways, this dinner sums up my first two years in office. I’ll talk for 10 minutes, take zero questions, and cheerfully walk away.”

While the audience chuckled along, senior CNN commentator and former Bush staffer Scott Jennings called out the president’s mockery, saying, “For the journalists in the room, he wasn’t laughing with you, he was laughing at you.”

Double Standard in Journalism

The lapdog media’s double standard was also highlighted during the event. The emcee, Roy Wood Jr., made fun of the media’s inadequate coverage of Joe Biden’s classified documents contained info on calls with foreign leaders”>classified documents compared to their coverage of Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents. The crowd chortled again, knowing that journalists, by and large, have a double standard.

It’s incredulous that Biden disrespects the press despite facing friendly journalists. He avoids them and still mocks them. Imagine if America had an actual media complex that held the president accountable. Unfortunately, we don’t, and Biden knows that. He laughs right in their faces about it.
