Whistleblower pushes for fraud inquiry into alleged UFO slush funds
David Grusch, a former intelligence officer and UFO “whistleblower,” claimed the White House should investigate allegations that billions of dollars are being funneled into secret UFO programs largely shielded from Congress. He said there are “slush funds” tied to purported crash-retrieval efforts and that the government has information-including allegedly audio and video-related to “non-human biologies,” with “several dozen” reported cases.
Speaking at a Capitol Hill press conference, Grusch argued that President Trump’s special task force on fraud and misuse of funds (led by Vice President JD Vance) should extend scrutiny to these activities. He also backed efforts by members of the House Oversight Committee’s declassification task force to increase openness, including calls to provide immunity to insiders who possess knowledge of recovered materials.
Lawmakers and participants urged passage of the UAP Disclosure Act and pressed Trump to waive nondisclosure agreements to encourage witnesses to come forward. The article also notes praise for recent releases of government UFO-related files, while emphasizing continuing concerns about classified programs and broader questions surrounding secrecy and accountability.
UFO Whistleblower David Grusch on Tuesday suggested the White House should investigate billions of dollars he suggested are being funneled to secret programs operated by the federal government.
Grusch, a former intelligence officer who gave NewsNation his first on-the-record interview as a whistleblower in 2023, before testifying to Congress, claimed there are massive “slush funds” tied to UFO programs, including allegedly classified UFO crash‑retrieval initiatives largely shielded from Congress and the public. He alleged the government is aware of “several dozen” cases involving “non-human biologies,” claiming there is U.S.-held audio and video related to crash retrievals of UFO phenomena, including images of recovered craft.

During a press conference on Capitol Hill this week, Grusch suggested President Donald Trump’s special task force investigating fraud, led by Vice President JD Vance, should probe the allegations. He expressed concern that many of the president’s team “have been kept in the dark by high ego, politically appointed actors,” regarding secretive federal programs, and joined lawmakers sitting on the House Oversight and Government Committee’s Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets who were present at the media briefing, including Reps. Eric Burlison (R-MO), Jared Moskowitz (D-FL), Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), and Tim Burchett (R-TN) in his call for more transparency in government.
“[This is] a real fraud, waste, and abuse issue,” Grusch told reporters. “President Vance’s task force is sharply focused on the issue of misuse of funds. The same accountability problem applies here, and during my investigation, I found slush funds to the tune of billions of dollars per annum for these activities.
“You cannot have one standard for the American people and another standard for the deep state to hide behind,” he said. “President Trump has the authority to create an enduring legacy of government transparency and accountability consistent with national security protections.”
Speakers at the press conference said there will be a White House meeting in the coming days about providing permanent immunity for insiders with knowledge of recovered materials, as they pushed for Congress to pass the UAP Disclosure Act, which strengthens whistleblower protections. Burlinson called directly on Trump to waive nondisclosure agreements that bind individuals with supposed knowledge of UFOs and the government’s handling of the situation, urging him to grant immunity “to anyone and everyone who has already come forward, everyone who will come forward.”
“Open the door and let them speak, because unless people know they will be protected, why would they come forward and step forward?” Burlinson said.
“This is the age of disclosure,” he said. “Hiding behind classification is no longer acceptable. … This is the moment. Use the authority that you have, Mr. President. The American people are behind you. And everyone listening today in government working for a contractor, retirees anywhere in the world, come to Congress, come to this group of people. We will work with you. This is a worldwide call for action for what you know. Help us, please release every record, every file, and every piece of information; the time is now.”
NEW JERSEY LAWMAKERS PLEAD FOR ACTION AS MYSTERIOUS ‘DRONE’ UFO WORRIES INTENSIFY
Speakers at the press conference praised the Trump administration for releasing historic numbers of government files related to UFOs, even as sweeping questions about classified federal projects loom, particularly after around a dozen scientists and individuals associated with them went missing, mysteriously died, or were murdered in recent months.
“The Department of War is in lockstep with President Trump to bring unprecedented transparency regarding our government’s understanding of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena,” War Secretary Pete Hegseth said in a statement when some UAP, or UFO, files were released in early May. “These files, hidden behind classifications, have long fueled justified speculation — and it’s time the American people see it for themselves. This release of declassified documents demonstrates the Trump Administration’s earnest commitment to unprecedented transparency.”
