Welp, Biden’s Phony Baloney Right-Wing Pivot Is Here

President Joe Biden is making a sudden pivot to the right in his political stance ahead of his 2024 re-election bid. He started by opposing the soft-on-crime overhaul in Washington DC and distancing himself from his far-left colleagues in the process, making it harder for Republicans to blame him or his party for the increase in crime. Recently, he took things up a notch by claiming that Republicans are allowing weak border security and are the ones who want to defund the police. Although it is unclear if voters will buy this change in political stance, it is possible that the media will.

Biden’s strategy for 2024 may well be to vilify the Republican nominee as an “ultra-MAGA extremist,” arguing that he could work better with reasonable GOPers like he did with gun reform and the Inflation Reduction Act if it weren’t for the MAGA Republicans. For instance, his recent tweet laments the extreme budget proposals from MAGA House Republicans that would eliminate funding for over 2,000 border patrol agents, rendering the country vulnerable to drug trafficking. However, Biden’s claims are false, and his position on illegal immigration seems to be that he has no problem with adding foreign nationals to the US as long as they come in “legally” while requesting asylum, calling such individuals “legal asylum seekers.”

Biden tweeted that “My budget keeps our borders secure while expanding legal pathways for migrants seeking asylum.” Protecting America’s borders and culture is now Biden’s priority, according to his tweet, which is a stark contrast to his previous position on the issue.

The President’s re-positioning is merely an opportunistic strategy as he has done his entire career. He represents himself as a moderate if he wants a chance to win. Biden admitted in a 1974 interview that the issues do not matter much in determining elections’ outcome. Instead, the issues are just a medium to portray one’s intellectual capacity to voters, proving one’s honesty and candor. According to him, his central campaign goal was to convince voters that he was intelligent and honest. This reality has not changed all these years as he now tries to trick voters into believing that he is someone else.
