WATCH: Touching Gesture Leads To Viral Moment For Young Yankees Fan

As the world continues to descend into madness, the sports world offers us moments of sanity. 

On Tuesday night in Toronto, Major League Baseball gave us a touching moment, reminding us what the game of baseball is all about. 

In the sixth inning at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge crushed a ball 427 feet into the second deck in left field. The home run tied the game 1-1, but it was the moment in the stands that stole everyone’s hearts. 

A Blue Jays fan wound up with the home run ball and immediately turned to a young Yankees fan, giving the youngster a souvenir he’ll never forget.

It was Judge’s ninth home run of the season and one that will be remembered by baseball fans everywhere. 

“That’s what’s special about this game,” Judge said. “It doesn’t matter what jersey you wear. Everybody’s a fan; everybody appreciates this game. That’s pretty cool. I’ve got to check out that video; that’s special.” 

Judge’s home run sparked a massive Yankees rally, with New York winning its 11th game in a row with a 9-1 victory Tuesday night. The 11 consecutive wins are the longest in the major leagues this season.

“Everything is clicking,” Giancarlo Stanton said after the game. “Timely hitting, the pitching has been great. We’ve just got to keep it going.”

Entering the season, Judge and the Yankees were unable to come to an agreement on a contract extension, meaning the slugger will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2022 season.

“Obviously our intent is to have Aaron Judge stay as a New York Yankee moving forward and I know that’s his intent as well, which is a good thing,” Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said on Opening Day. “We’re going to have to be entering those efforts in a new arena, which would be at the end of the season when free agency starts. Maybe that will determine what his real market value will be, because we certainly couldn’t agree at this stage on a contract extension.”

New York is now 18-6 on the season, 3.5 games up on the Blue Jays in the American League East.
