Russian missiles reportedly struck a massive television tower in Ukraine’s capital city of Kyiv on Tuesday, with the blast captured live on video.

The video was shared by the Kyiv Independent and has spread across many outlets on social media.

Another video reportedly showed multiple missile strikes occurring around the 385-meter high television tower located near residential areas in the city.

The video from another angle also shows the destruction well beyond the tower.

The blast’s aftermath was highlighted in photos across the internet within minutes of the strike that reportedly stopped the broadcast of several television stations in Kyiv.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the Russian strike on Telegram.

“The channels will not work for a while,” the ministry said in its statement. “The backup broadcasting of some channels will be enabled in the near future.”

“Earlier on Tuesday, the Russian military warned that it would carry out strikes against Ukraine’s State Security Agency and ‘the 72nd Main Center for Information and Psychological Operations [PSO] in Kyiv,’” CNN reported.

The local 1+1 TV channel said work will be done to restore any lost signal, according to local reports. Reports also expressed concern as the tower is next to the Babi Yar Holocaust Memorial Center. The site marks massacres carried out by Nazi forces in 1941.

Russian attacks on communications have been expected. On Friday, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Digital Mykhailo Fedorov called on SpaceX CEO Elon Musk to provide Starlink internet service to Ukraine.

“@elonmusk, while you try to colonize Mars — Russia try to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civil people! We ask you to provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and to address sane Russians to stand,” Fedorov tweeted.

Hours later, Musk personally responded to the request.

“Starlink service is now active in Ukraine. More terminals en route,” Musk wrote.

On Monday, Fedorov took to Twitter again to thank Musk, posting a picture that showed the arrival of Starlink’s equipment.

“Starlink — here. Thanks, @elonmusk,” he wrote.

“You are most welcome,” Musk replied.

As of Monday, media reported the Starlink satellites already working.

The strike on the Kyiv television tower also followed an earlier Russian bombing of Kharkiv, the second-largest city in Ukraine. The missiles left devastation some are describing as “utter destruction” as the nation faces its sixth day of attacks. The Daily Wire reported.

ITV correspondent Dan Rivers surveyed the damage following the harrowing incident in a video revealing the impact on the city’s Freedom Square.

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukraine’s minister of foreign affairs, released a video showing the missile strike upon Freedom Square.

“Barbaric Russian missile strikes on the central Freedom Square and residential districts of Kharkiv. Putin is unable to break Ukraine down. He commits more war crimes out of fury, murders innocent civilians. The world can and must do more. INCREASE PRESSURE, ISOLATE RUSSIA FULLY!” he wrote.
