WATCH: Murder Suspect Escapes Courthouse After Shackles Removed

An Oregon man aged 28 was charged with the murder of his mother’s partner. The escape video has just been released.

Ed Villalobos, a suspect in the stabbing of his mother’s companion in April 2021, was present in court to stand trial. Two hours later, he allegedly attacked another man before leading police on an eight-hour chase. reported. Cameras in the courthouse show Villalobos being led into the courtroom. A deputy from the sheriff pats him down, then removes his wrist- and ankle restraints. The suspect patiently waits.

“When it comes to removing the restraints, that’s what Oregon law requires us to do,” A spokesperson for the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Telled KATU.

Villalobos appears to pretend that he is going to take his place after the shackles are removed. However, he instead makes a mad dash towards the courtroom doors, which were left unguarded. As deputies pursue, cameras capture Villalobos running out of Washington County Courthouse.

The suspect went into the surrounding area and was not found until two hours after someone called the sheriff’s department to report that a man had attempted to break into an apartment. Villalobos was found hiding under a blanket in a closet by the owner of the apartment.

KATU reported that he is now facing murder charges and charges related to his escape.

Villalobos’ trial was rescheduled to a later date.

Artemio GuzmanOlvera (33), who was dating Villalobos’ mom, The Oregonian, is being tried. reported. Guzmano-Olvera succumbed at the scene. Villalobos is accused of stabbing Guzman Olvera. Two hours later, Villalobos fled from the scene in a car. Ramirez Aguierre was taken to the hospital, but apparently he survived.

A Tualatin officer, Oregon, saw Villalobos’ vehicle and began following him, about 30 minutes after Ramirez Aguierre had been stabbed. The suspect pulled over the car, fled on foot and was quickly arrested.
