“It will be a big day with the Navy. Leaving now,” he wrote on Truth Social earlier Sunday. “The United States has the greatest military, by far, in the World. This will be a show of Naval aptitude and strength. ENJOY WATCHING! It will be broadcast everywhere.”
The celebration at Norfolk’s naval base was previously scheduled for Friday but was delayed due to the weather. The event comes amid the government shutdown that took effect midweek last week. Despite the shutdown, Trump committed to attending the event.
