President Donald Trump is celebrating the merger of US Steel and Nippon Steel with a rally near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Trump is set to speak at US Steel’s Irvin Works in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, at 5 p.m.

Trump hailed the new “partnership” between the two companies in a Truth Social post last week, saying it would create “at least 70,000 jobs, and add $14 Billion Dollars to the U.S. Economy.”

“For many years, the name, ‘United States Steel’ was synonymous with Greatness, and now, it will be again,” he said.

Trump’s visit also comes amid wider controversy over his industrial policies, particularly tariffs.

“Despite doomsday prophesying by the ‘experts,’ President Trump’s America First economic agenda of tariffs, tax cuts, rapid deregulation, and domestic energy production continues to pay off,” White House spokesman Kush Desai said in a statement earlier this week.
