Secretary of State Marco Rubio returns to Capitol Hill on Wednesday for a second day of back-to-back testimony before House and Senate committees. He will first appear before the House Foreign Affairs Committee at 10 a.m. to discuss the State Department’s fiscal 2027 budget, which seeks 30% less discretionary spending than the previous year. Later, at 3 p.m., he is scheduled to testify before the Senate Appropriations Committee’s State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs subcommittee.Rubio is expected to face questions again about the war in Iran, where a fragile ceasefire appears to have been disrupted by U.S. and Iranian “self-defense” strikes.
