WATCH: Kamala Harris booed at NCAA tournament, gives awkward postgame speech

VAfter attending Howard University’s first appearance at the NCAA tournament for over 30 years, Kamala Harris, ice president, became viral multiple times Thursday.

Harris, a Howard alumnus, watched as the 16-seeded No. 1 team lost to No. 1 Kansas 96-68.

According to a report, the game took place at the Wells Fargo Center, Des Moines, Iowa. The crowd applauded the vice president’s appearance on the videoboard, but the boos outweighed the applause.

Harris was there to congratulate the Howard team after the game.

“You played hard. You played till the very last second. You made all us Bison so, so proud,” Harris informed the players.

“You showed the world who Bison are,” She continued. “You know, I was at Howard back in the day where we were just happy that there was a game, much less getting to this place, right?”

Howard graduates are “all over the world” Harris speaks about the accomplishments of this year’s team.

“You make us so proud,” She spoke. “So, I know you may not be feeling great right now, OK? But you know who you are. You are excellence.”
