“You don’t believe there should be a Jewish state anywhere in this region. So as long as that’s your stance, there’s no point in arguing. You can’t simultaneously hold the position that there should be no Jewish state in the region and then criticize me for saying that Arabs won’t accept a Jewish state,” Shapiro asserted.
During the full debate, Shapiro remarked, “Your logic is that if you’re a terrorist group located in a densely populated area, you can hide behind civilians and be immune.”
When one student referred to Israel’s attacks on Gaza as “one-sided ethnic cleansing,” Shapiro responded, “I certainly hope Israel is killing more Hamas…” before being interrupted by the crowd.
After being told that Israeli retaliation against Gaza was not a just war, Shapiro countered, “So it’s not a just war when you fight against people who have murdered 1,500 of your civilians?”

In the article, he highlighted that the Oxford University and College Union recently considered a motion stating, “only a mass uprising on both sides of the green line and across the Middle East can free the Palestinian people,” and labeled the Hamas killing of civilians as “a direct consequence of decades of violent oppression of the Palestinian people by the Israeli state.”
“This motion is pure and simple Jew-hatred. Any attempt to equate Israel with Hamas is nothing but Jew-hatred,” he wrote.

“When you support Hamas and its agenda, you are endorsing the brutal murder of innocent babies; you are supporting the abduction, rape, and killing of women,” he wrote.
Shapiro emphasized that the West must recognize, as Israel has, that only by fighting back can fundamental truths prevail.
“Today, the existence of the State of Israel means that Jews no longer have to wait for others to acknowledge the existence of monsters and the reality of evil. However, the West must also come to this realization. Not for the sake of Jews. Not for the sake of Israel. But because if the West fails to defend itself, it will cease to exist. And the monsters will triumph,” he concluded.
