WATCH: Alan Dershowitz blasts possible Trump indictment as ‘100% political’

Lawyer and Professor Emeritus at Harvard Law School, Alan Dershowitz, has criticized former President Donald Trump’s possible indictment and arrest as “100% political.”

“Purely, purely political,” Dershowitz told Tom Basile, host of show “America Right Now.”

RON DESANTIS SLAMS ALVIN BRAGG FOR ‘PURSUING A POLITICAL AGENDA’ IN POSSIBLE TRUMP INDICTMENT

“Look, the attorney general of New York ran on a campaign to get Trump — [Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg], essentially the same thing,” he said.

The possibility of Trump becoming the first former president indicted in the United States history rose after multiple reports indicated that Alvin Bragg, Manhattan District Attorney, would indict Trump over charges tied to hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels, a porn star.

“This is 100% political. There is no basis for this prosecution, but with the judiciary in New York, you never know,” Dershowitz said. “The courts could uphold it. That is the problem, according to Dershowitz,” he added.

“The problem is every part of the judicial system has become politicized,” he added. ” ‘Get Trump!’ This ‘Get Trump!’ business.”

Dershowitz recently published a book titled Get Trump: The Threat to Civil Liberties, Due Process, and Our Constitutional Rule of Law, claiming the idea of “Getting Trump” to be prevalent in every aspect of the legal system. “So, normally, a person has a guarantee, at least, that the courts will free him,” Dershowitz explains. “Here, there’s no assurance that the courts of New York will. It may have to go up to the United States Supreme Court.”
