Vivek Ramaswamy Calls for ‘Declaration of Independence’ From China

Vivek Rajaswamy, who ran for the 2024 Republican presidential nominating party nomination, is urging the United States to adopt a “Declaration of Independence” This would end China’s economic entanglement.

Ramaswamy compared China to the Soviet Union on Sunday, stating that the main difference between these communist regimes was that the former had not been so deeply embedded in the U.S. marketplace.

“The key difference today is, unlike the USSR in the last century, we never depended on the Soviet Union for the shoes on our feet or phones in our pocket. That is the case today,” Ramaswamy spoke on CNN’s “State of the Union” program.

“And I think it’s the number one threat we face,” He continued. “And so I’m actually delivering a vision of national identity that hopefully allows us to make the short-run sacrifices we’ll need to on the global stage to actually win as a country over the long run.”

CPAC Speech

Ramaswamy, a millionaire investor and author, spoke out about declaring. “independence” China several times, including last week’s address to the Conservative Political Action Conference.

“If Thomas Jefferson were alive today, that is the Declaration of Independence he would sign,” He told his audience at a national conservative event. “That is the Declaration of Independence I will sign if I’m elected as your next president.”

“We’re in a codependent relationship with our enemy,” He also noted that “codependent relationships do not end well.”

“They send the fentanyl across our southern border, they send the digital fentanyl through TikTok, financial fentanyl in the form of the national debt that’s created this addictive relationship to China. We declare independence. We’re done with financial fentanyl, digital fentanyl, actual fentanyl.”

Ramaswamy says that in order to make such a declaration a reality, the United States must go beyond “ban most U.S. businesses from doing business in China” Until the Chinese Communist Party falls or “radically reforms” itself. “There is no easy way out but to take that bandage and rip it right away,” He disagreed.

“I’m sorry, Henry Kissinger. We’re done with your experiment,” According to the 37-year-old businessman, this was in reference to President Richard Nixon’s top diplomat who sought to integrate China into the global economy as a full member in the hope of political reform.

“We need to start thinking about the timescales of history, not the timescales of election cycles. We don’t need [Neville] Chamberlain, we need a bit of [Winston] Churchill in this country,” He also added. Chamberlain, as Prime Minister of Great Britain, is best known for supporting the policy of appeasement toward Nazi Germany over Czechoslovakia’s Annexation. Churchill, on the other hand, is well-known to have led the country through the war that his predecessor wanted to avoid through territorial concessions.

Ramaswamy told CPAC that if he was elected to the White House in 2024 Ramaswamy would also shutter the federal Department of Education. “has no reason to exist.” He also Vow You can repeal Executive Order 11246He described it as a long-standing affirmative policy that he called a mandate of federally funded workplaces with race quotas.

Ramaswamy will be competing against former President Donald Trump, and former Governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley for the nomination. Both Ramaswamy, and Haley are Indian.

An additional two Trump administration alumni are said to be interested in running for president, former Vice President Mike Pence (and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo).
