Viral Marine Who Thwarted Robbery Wears ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Shirt To Accept Award; County Sheriff Proudly Posts

A retired Marine who stopped a would-be robbery at an Arizona gas station accepted a valor award this week, while wearing some notable attire: an anti-Biden “Let’s go Brandon” t-shirt and a Trump “MAGA” hat.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office awarded 32-year-old James Kilcer, who served a tour in Afghanistan, with the YCSO Citizen’s Valor Award, Tuesday.

The award is given to to those who display “extraordinary heroism and exceptional courage while voluntarily coming to the aid of another citizen during an incident involving criminal activity at extreme, life threatening, personal risk in an attempt to save or protect human life.”

It’s described as the “highest award for citizens whose actions warrant recognition,” according to the sheriff’s office.

In a photo posted to the Facebook account of the office, Sheriff Leon Wilmot is shown handing Mr. Kilcer the award, as the good Samaritan wears his “Let’s Go Brandon” shirt.

The slogan has become a viral anti-Biden saying following a recent NASCAR race, where an NBC reporter claimed fans were cheering on the race winner, Brandon Brown, when they were actually chanting “F*** Joe Biden.” Now, “Let’s go Brandon” has become synonymous with “F*** Joe Biden.”

As highlighted by The Daily Wire, the thwarted robbery was caught on surveillance footage — footage that quickly went viral due to Kilcer’s incredibly quick and brave reaction.

Kilcer disarms the gunman — sending his accomplice rushing out the store –and then holds him down until authorities arrive. The sheriff’s office described the encounter as follows:

On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at approximately 4:30 AM, Deputies responded to an armed robbery report at the Chevron located at 10747 S. Fortuna Road. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that three suspects entered the Chevron, one of them armed with a handgun. As the armed suspect walked by Mr. Kilcer while pointing the weapon at the cashier, Kilcer reacted without hesitation, quickly disarming the suspect and taking him to the ground. He was able to immediately gain control of the gun and detain the suspect until Deputies arrived. As a result, no victims were injured and no property loss was sustained.
