Vermont man convicted in shooting of three Palestinian students
A Vermont jury unanimously found Jason Eaton guilty of attempting to murder three Palestinian students in 2023. Eaton confessed to carrying out the attack in November 2023, shooting Hisham Awartani, Tahseen Aliahmad, and Kinnan Abdalhamid while they were walking in his neighborhood. He claimed he was suffering from a psychotic episode at the time and sought to be found not guilty by reason of insanity.

However, he sought to plead not guilty by reason of insanity, arguing he was suffering from a psychotic episode during the shootings.
