Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) reacted to the second assassination attempt on his running mate, former President Donald Trump, saying he is grateful Trump is safe.
“I’m glad President Trump is safe,” Vance posted on X. “I spoke to him before the news was public and he was, amazingly, in good spirits. Still much we don’t know, but I’ll be hugging my kids extra tight tonight and saying a prayer of gratitude.”

The FBI said they’re investigating “an attempted assassination of former President Trump” after Secret Service shot at a man who was suspected of having a long gun at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The man fled the scene and there were no injuries reported.
