Vance says Psaki and Fuentes can ‘eat s***’ over attacks on second lady
Vice President JD Vance had harsh words for people who have attacked his wife, second lady Usha Vance, such as white nationalist Nick Fuentes or former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki.
“Anyone who attacks my wife, whether their name is Jen Psaki or Nick Fuentes, can eat s***. That’s my official policy as vice president of the United States,” Vance said in a Monday interview published by UnHerd.
Fuentes has called the second lady racial slurs and said Vance is a “race traitor” for marrying her.
“Who is this guy, really? Do we really expect that the guy who has an Indian wife and named their kid ‘Vivek’ is going to support white identity?” Fuentes said after President Donald Trump named Vance as his vice president.
Psaki has come at the second lady from a different angle, suggesting she’s Vance’s hostage.
“I always wonder what’s going on in the mind of his [JD Vance’s] wife. Like, are you OK? Please blink four times. Come over here. We’ll save you,” Psaki said during an appearance on the I’ve Had It podcast.
While criticizing Psaki is typical for conservatives, Fuentes has thoroughly divided the conservative movement. Conservative journalist Tucker Carlson interviewed him in October, sparking backlash that he would give Fuentes a large platform, given his inflammatory history.
Fuentes has a history of antisemitic comments and has called Hitler “cool.”
The vice president was adamant that antisemitism has no place in the party.
“Antisemitism, and all forms of ethnic hatred,” he said, “have no place in the conservative movement. Whether you’re attacking somebody because they’re white or because they’re black or because they’re Jewish, I think it’s disgusting.”
He said Fuentes’s influence within the administration is “overstated” but did not attack Carlson for giving Fuentes a platform. Vance defended Carlson, though he noted he has disagreements with him as well.
“Tucker’s a friend of mine,” he said. “And do I have disagreements with Tucker Carlson? Sure. I have disagreements with most of my friends, especially those who work in politics. You know this. Most people who know me know this. I’m [also] a very loyal person, and I am not going to get into the business of throwing friends under the bus.”
He said he ultimately believes the focus on Fuentes’s racism is also overblown.
“If you believe racism is bad, Fuentes should occupy one second of your focus, and the people with actual political power who worked so hard to discriminate against white men should occupy many hours of it,” he said.
Vance spoke at this weekend’s AmericaFest after Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk endorsed him for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination. He said he would collaborate with all the conservatives at the event, despite their previous clashes. Ben Shapiro and Carlson disagreed publicly with Fuentes at the event.

“When I say that I’m going to fight alongside of you, I mean all of you — each and every one,” Vance said. “President Trump did not build the greatest coalition in politics by running his supporters through endless, self-defeating purity tests.”
He also said, to raucous applause, that Americans “don’t have to apologize for being white anymore.”
