Some attendees contributed significant sums, with $100,000 at a reception and $250,000 at a dinner. Vance, who is the RNC finance chairman, has conducted multiple fundraising events across the country, raising significant funds and gaining high-level donor access.
There is speculation about a possible 2028 presidential run for Vance, especially after reports of Trump expressing support for him, though Trump clarified he had not endorsed any candidate yet. Vice President JD Vance reportedly raked in more than $5 million at a New York fundraiser for young Republican donors as he builds a national fundraising network, growing speculation about a potential 2028 presidential bid.
The event, held in Southampton, New York, took place at the home of 1789 Capital President Omeed Malik, a prominent donor to President Donald Trump. The gathering drew roughly 35 people, according to Axios.

Among the attendees were several rising figures in the Republican Party, including Donald Trump Jr., Polymarket founder Shayne Coplan, and GRV Strategies founder Garrett Ventry.
Family members of senior Trump administration officials were also in attendance. Cantor Fitzgerald President Brandon Lutnick, the son of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, attended, as did World Liberty Financial co-founder Zach Witkoff, the son of Trump envoy Steve Witkoff.
Chris Buskirk, a key Vance ally and president of the Rockbridge Network, served as a host for the event.
Following a reception, about 20 guests attended an additional dinner. Those at the reception contributed $100,000 each to the Republican National Committee, while dinner attendees gave $250,000 each, Axios reported.
Vance serves as finance chairman of the Republican National Committee, a position that has given him access to some of the party’s highest donors. He has also held fundraising events across the country, including a June RNC event in Palo Alto, California, that raised $4.2 million.
Vance has not yet publicly expressed an intention to run for president in 2028. The Washington Post reported this month that Trump recently told donors, “At the end of the day, we need to elect JD.”
Trump later denied that he had endorsed Vance, saying, “I heard about it a little while ago. I think he’s great, but we’re way too early to even be thinking about that.”
Trump, however, has repeatedly floated the possibility of a future ticket featuring Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Trump suggested in May at a White House event that Vance and Rubio could make a “dream team,” but held off endorsing either for president.
“That does not mean you have my endorsement under any circumstance,” Trump said. “But you know … I think it sounds like presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate.”
Meanwhile, a recent poll from Emerson College found Rubio slightly outperforming Vance in multiple hypothetical 2028 presidential matchups.
