Democrats’ Murderous Hatred Of Trump Is Just Hatred Of America

Thirty-one percent of registered Democrats want President Trump assassinated, and 59 percent would support the American military overthrowing the validly elected president as long as the coup was done to “protect the Constitution.” 

These were two of the most jaw-dropping takeaways from a recent poll conducted by Chance Phillips and the Center for Strategic Politics about what Democrats are thinking. And, naturally, they were the poll results that gained the most attention. 

If those were the only things this poll revealed, you might be able to explain it as the logical end form of Trump Derangement Syndrome. You can only call someone a Nazi, Hitler, fascist, and authoritarian for so long before people think they’re part of the Department of Ungentlemanly Warfare. But the poll’s other results show that TDS cannot be the simple explanation. 

Consider some of the other results. Sixty-nine percent of Democrats want the next Democrat president to “expand” the Supreme Court — i.e., turn the court into the Democrat Party’s rubber stamp. Sixty-eight percent believe the United States should bring in more immigrants. Seventy-seven percent want Trump administration officials to be prosecuted for enforcing immigration laws already on the books. Fifty-two percent believe the filibuster should be shot and buried. Majorities of Democrats do not think billionaires should exist or that the party should moderate on “transgender issues,” meaning most think Gavin Newsom’s bill allowing child sexual mutilation without parental consent or even knowledge is the right way forward. Almost one-fifth of Democrats — 17 percent — think the Senate should be abolished. 

As others have said, this is not your grandfather’s Democrat Party. This is no longer the Democrat Party of even 2004, when Barack Obama could give a DNC keynote address that gave lip service to American principles and the American Dream. The kooks, as Rush Limbaugh called them, are not only in charge now but in the majority; the poll revealed that 34 percent of Democrats identify as “very woke” and 25 percent as “somewhat woke.” Only 12 percent identified as “very unwoke.” 

The danger of a poll like this is that people can get lost in the weeds, focusing on just one data point (“56 percent of Democrats want Trump to die in his sleep!”). But this is to miss the obvious conclusion of the poll: The Democrat Party, leadership, and voters have declared open war against the United States. 

That sounds melodramatic, but the Democrats have been playing footsie with this for years. Take the Constitution. Listening to Democrats, one would think they were its most principled defenders. But over just the past 10 years, Democrats have formed a chorus to call for the Constitution’s annihilation and replacement. And this chorus has not been composed of anonymous entities yelling into the internet.

This June, the president of the College of the Holy Cross, Vincent Rougeau, wrote in the Jesuit magazine America that “the Constitution has passed its sell-by date.” Aziz Rana, writing in The New York Times in April 2024, warned that “the Constitution won’t save us from Trump,” the subtext being that the framers’ masterpiece was worthless. Jennifer Szalai, in August 2024, ratcheted up that claim, writing that the Constitution is “one of the biggest threats to America’s politics.” In 2022, Nicholas Goldberg, in the Los Angeles Times, identified the Constitution as the “problem” underlying the Supreme Court. Richard Albert, a constitutional law scholar, argued 10 years ago in The Boston Globe that the time had come to write a new constitution “rooted in an infrastructure of equality, not of slavery.” 

Strip away the magic words of power such as “democracy,” “equality,” and “slavery,” and these arguments are unmasked as power grabs, pure and simple. They’re as raw as David Schanzer and Jay Sullivan insisting in The New York Times that then-President Obama cancel the 2014 midterms to save his agenda. The Constitution is a roadblock to their dreams of complete, centralized, one-party rule. Therefore, it must be destroyed.

But this is more than just ending a particular form of government. We, the American people, established the Constitution, as it says in the Preamble, taking not only philosophy and ancient history but our own colonial experiences in self-government to forge it. It is the covenant that politically binds us together. An attack on the Constitution is an attack on us. On Americans. 

These attacks against us have become sharper and more obvious. Texas Democrat Congressman Greg Casar recently said immigration enforcement was “war” and that Austin would only be safe if authorities stopped enforcing immigration law completely. Delia Ramirez, a Democrat representative from Chicago, has introduced legislation that would dismantle the Department of Homeland Security because that is the only way “our people” can be safe. The million-dollar question is: Who are “the people” Casar, Ramirez, and the rest of their party talk about?

The answer is anyone who is not American. This is why Democrats cheer the Islamification of American cities such as Dearborn and Paterson and make Muslims the real victims of 9/11. This is why Democrats aided and abetted pirates to defraud Americans of billions of dollars in states like Minnesota. This is why Democrat-dominated California has created a “shadow welfare system” for illegal aliens. That shadow system redistributed $11 billion to non-Americans from American taxpayers in the last fiscal year alone. This is why Democrats give full-throated support to the asinine idea of “birthright citizenship” that is currently being used by Chinese billionaires (the only good billionaires, apparently) to literally breed American “citizens” who will never live here but will get the vote. This is why Democrats cheer the thought of white Americans becoming a minority in their own country and rabidly call for the burning of our history and heritage.

Americans can be damned because the Democrat Party is not an American party. It is the anti-American party. Perhaps nowhere has this anti-Americanism been so perfectly encapsulated as by Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., making Kilmar Abrego Garcia — illegal alien, MS-13 gangbanger, and alleged human trafficker and wife beater — into another Rosa Parks, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz pardoning an illegal alien child rapist to stop his deportation. 

In The Two Towers, Aragorn tells Theoden, “Open war is upon you. Whether you would risk it or not.” That is the position in which we now live. The first step to winning a war is knowing you are in one. Once that crucial step has been taken, the second step is simple: action.

We are well past the time of complacency, of thinking we can sit out of politics because we might not have gotten everything on our political wish list. As Jesse Kelly said on X, “Get MORE involved than you’ve ever been.” Vote in the midterms. Get your friends to vote in the midterms. Donate and volunteer. And after the midterms are over, choose a section of the battlefield and go all in. Maybe it’s fighting and removing Soros-backed DAs. Maybe it’s creating an organization to get patriots elected to school boards across the country. Maybe it’s unshackling your local Republican Party from the thinking of McCain, Romney, and Cornyn.

Whatever you choose, fight. It is the only way out.
