The U.S. military has made a‍ breakthrough in the⁤ search for the wreckage of a ⁢crashed F-35 fighter jet ⁤in South Carolina. After appealing to⁣ the⁤ public for assistance, debris⁤ from the aircraft was ‍finally discovered on Monday.

The pilot of the F-35B Lightning II jet had ​successfully ejected from the​ plane​ on‍ Sunday afternoon.

Joint Base Charleston, using⁤ the social media platform X (formerly ⁢known as Twitter), urged people to contact‌ the ⁢Base Defense Operations Center with any information that could aid the recovery teams.

Just one day later, the search teams were able ‌to ‌locate the wreckage.

“Personnel from Joint Base Charleston and @MCASBeaufortSC, ⁤in close coordination ⁢with local authorities, have found a debris field in Williamsburg County. The debris was​ discovered two hours northeast of JB Charleston,” announced the base on X, expressing gratitude to local, county, and state officials for their assistance.

The ‍F-35 fighter jet, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, boasts exceptional features such as radar invisibility and advanced sensors and equipment.
