US intercepts sanctioned Iranian vessel in Arabian Sea
U.S.forces intercepted the vessel Sevan in the Arabian Sea, a sanctioned ship linked to Iran’s so-called “shadow fleet.” A Navy helicopter blocked the vessel and ordered it to turn back to Iran under U.S. escort, with CENTCOM saying it is currently complying. The interception marks the 37th since the United States began enforcing its blockade on Iranian ports; Sevan had already been targeted by sanctions. The event comes as peace talks stall, and it notes that trump canceled a later trip related to Iran negotiations while vowing to keep the blockade in place untill a deal is reached.
