Ukraine’s military intelligence has published a photo of a Black Hawk helicopter, made by the USA. The Ukrainian flag is attached to it.

The Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine posted two photos of the helicopter to its Twitter account on Tuesday. According to a press release published at the time that the photos were uploaded, the Black Hawk was used recently for military missions.

“Military intelligence aviation of Ukraine continues its work on the front line of the defense of our country. Reconnaissance pilots have just returned from another combat mission,” The press release said.

“Combat helicopters significantly increase the capabilities of the special units of the Main Directorate of Intelligence and the effectiveness of special operations,” It was added.

A Ukrainian Mi-24 Hind helicopter is also seen in one of these photos.

At this time, it is unclear how the Black Hawk was obtained by the Ukrainian military. The White House approved the sending of Mi-17 helicopters from Kyiv, which were part of the Soviet-era. The aircraft were once owned by the Afghan government, before it was wiped out in 2021 due to the devastating U.S. pullout. The Biden administration has not made public statements that it provided Black Hawks to Kyiv if the U.S. sent the helicopter.

Despite Zelensky’s pleas for such weapons or aircraft, President Biden still hasn’t sent long-range weaponry or fighter jets to Ukraine.

However, the Biden administration has been increasing heavy arms shipments. This included HIMARS, ground launched small-diameter explosives (GLSDB) and a Patriot missile batter, among other equipment. The U.S. agreed last month to send M1 Abrams as well as Leopard 2 tanks.
