Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Posts Video of Soldier Doing “Pikachu Dance”

A video posted by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense of a soldier dancing went viral on Monday.
Many on Twitter questioned why the video was posted and called into question the amount of money that the United States and other NATO countries have been sending to the wartorn eastern European country.
“Never ask America for money again,” said user TRHLofficial, better known as the Redheaded Libertarian.
“100,000 dead and presumably twice that or more wounded and [Ukrainian] forces are reduced to dance routines?” said another user.
Many drew comparisons to the early-pandemic trend of nurses dancing while many died of Covid. “The war is so severe that you manage to do the tiktok dancing nurse 2.0,” said one user.
“It’s the tik tok nurses all over again. It was tone deaf then and is now too,” said another. “Wow. I haven’t seen dancing this good since nurses discovered TikTok during COVID,” user bostonwriter said.
“We’re paying $120 billion for these videos,” said Lavern Spicer.
Some, however, have defended the dancing, including outlets like the Huffington Post, who spun the dance as being cute and quirky.
The video has garnered over a million views and over 45,000 likes.
