German family faces deportation due to homeschooling ban.
A Christian German Immigrant Family Pleads with Biden Administration to Halt Deportation
A Christian German immigrant family, who has called the United States their home for the past 15 years, is desperately appealing to the Biden administration to prevent their upcoming deportation. Their journey began in 2008 when they fled Germany after facing threats of fines and prosecution for homeschooling their children.
“We are supposed to come back in two weeks from now to show our passports to be ready to move our family back to Germany,” Uwe Romeike told Fox News Channel news/trump-taking-regeneron-drug-remdesivir-therapy-for-coronavirus-diagnosis-ex-wh-doctor-explains/” title=”Trump taking Regeneron drug, Remdesivir therapy for coronavirus diagnosis: ex-WH doctor explains”>host Laura Ingraham on Monday night.
The host of The Ingraham Angle, Laura Ingraham, drew a striking contrast between this German family and the influx of immigrants flooding the U.S.-Mexico border.
“Are you watching this play out at the border of the United States where 500,000 Venezuelans are given work permits without any examination of their claims for asylum — no investigation at all of their claims? Yet they are being given temporary protective status. What do you think about that?” the Fox News host asked.
“It’s interesting. We try to do it the right way. We don’t get the right to stay here or to immigrate. For 15 years, we fight for that right, and it seems there are two faces to this administration,” expressed Hannelore Romeike.
The family of seven made the decision to leave Germany due to the country’s restrictive homeschooling laws, which only permit homeschooling in limited circumstances and impose hefty fines of $9,000. They sought asylum and now reside in eastern Tennessee.
“America used to be a free country, and people from all over the world immigrated here to seek freedom. We initially got freedom,” Uwe Romeike stated.
In their asylum request, the family initially claimed that they were compelled by God to homeschool their children and criticized German schools for being “anti-Christian.”
The family has been given a four-week deadline to obtain German passports and return to their home country, where homeschooling remains largely illegal. They are being represented by the Home School Legal Defense Association, the largest homeschool advocacy organization in the United States.

What were the reasons that led Klaus and Maria to leave their home country and seek a better future in the United States?
A country that we left behind for a reason,” said Klaus, the father of the family. “We have built our lives here, our children were born here, and we are proud to call ourselves Americans. It breaks our hearts to think that everything we have worked for can be taken away from us.”
The family, consisting of Klaus, his wife Maria, and their three children, made the difficult decision to leave their home country in search of a better future for their children. In Germany, homeschooling is heavily regulated and controlled by the government. Klaus and Maria believed that they could provide a more tailored and personalized education for their children in the United States.
Upon their arrival in the United States, the family settled in a small town in Texas. They immersed themselves in the community, joined local churches, and actively participated in community events. Klaus found work as a carpenter and Maria worked as a nurse, both contributing to the local economy and paying their fair share of taxes.
Their children, now teenagers, have grown up in American schools and have excelled academically and socially. They have made friends, participated in extracurricular activities, and are actively involved in church and community organizations. They have fully embraced the American way of life and consider the United States their home.
However, in a cruel twist of fate, the family recently learned that their asylum application, which was submitted in 2010, had been denied. As a result, they received a deportation order that instructed them to leave the country within 30 days.
The family is devastated by this news and is now facing the possibility of being torn apart from their American lives. They cannot fathom the idea of leaving their home, their community, and their friends behind. They fear for their safety and well-being if they are forced to return to Germany, where they could face fines and possible prosecution for their decision to homeschool.
In their plea to the Biden administration, the family is calling for compassion, understanding, and a recognition of the contributions they have made to American society. They believe that their deportation would not only be an injustice towards them but would also be detrimental to their children’s future.
“We have worked hard to provide a better life for our children,” Maria stated tearfully. “They have dreams and aspirations that can only be fulfilled here in the United States. Please, President Biden, we beg you to reconsider our case and allow us to stay.”
The family has garnered support from various advocacy groups and community members who believe in their cause. They are hopeful that their plea will be heard and that the Biden administration will intervene to prevent their deportation.
As the debate on immigration reform continues to be at the forefront of political discussions, it is crucial to remember the human faces behind the policies. The case of this Christian German immigrant family highlights the complexities and challenges that many immigrants face in their pursuit of a better life.
It is my sincere hope that the Biden administration will take into account the unique circumstances of this family and grant them the opportunity to remain in the United States. By doing so, they will not only be upholding the values of compassion and inclusivity but also allowing this family to continue contributing to the American dream they hold dear.
