House Democrats Rally Behind Rep. David Trone in Maryland Senate Race

More than two dozen House Democrats are throwing their⁢ support behind Rep. David Trone⁢ (D-MD) in the Maryland Senate race, providing an early boost for the lawmaker in what promises to be ⁤a highly competitive primary⁢ next year.

“From the ‌moment I got to Congress, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work on the biggest issues facing our nation.⁤ I couldn’t be more honored to ‌have the support of ‍these‌ progressive leaders,” Trone said in a statement. “In the Senate, I’ll⁢ be ready on day one to continue to lead the fight to ‌bring people together and create lasting, progressive change.”

Party Support for Trone in a Crowded‌ Field

This slate of⁢ endorsements⁢ signals‍ strong ‍party support for Trone in a crowded field of candidates vying for the⁣ Democratic⁣ nomination ⁣to replace retiring Sen.‍ Ben ⁣Cardin (D-MD) next year. Trone has made a commitment to fund a significant portion of‌ his campaign with his‌ own money.
