Tulsi Gabbard Endorses Republican Adam Laxalt for Senate

Former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has handed her endorsement to Nevada Republican Senate candidate Adam Laxalt, while calling his contender “Joe Biden’s rubber stamp.”

In her Oct. 17 video, Gabbard cited the “woke” ideologies that “demonize police, back open borders, and believe biological men should compete in women’s sports” as reasons why she left the Democratic Party.

She pointed out that these are all the policies embraced by incumbent Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.), who is challenging Laxalt in the Senate race.

Gabbard characterized Masto as “Joe Biden’s rubber stamp in the Senate, voting with him nearly 100 percent of the time.”

Her view was echoed by Laxalt, who called Masto’s advocated policies “disastrous.”

“It is the disastrous policies of Joe Biden and his rubber stamp Senator Catherine Cortez Masto that are causing soaring inflation, record-high gas prices, a crisis along our open southern border, and skyrocketing crime,” Laxalt said in a statement.

“This is why thousands of Nevadans, of all political backgrounds, are getting behind our campaign to take back the Senate and become the 51st GOP seat.”

Gabbard expressed her confidence that Laxalt could avert the policies in place for the benefit of Nevadans.

“Adam will do what’s right for Nevadans—not whatever Biden and the woke left demand. Like me, Adam is a veteran who served overseas. Nevada law enforcement supports him. And he’s focused on bringing down the cost of gas and groceries,” she said.

“That’s why I’m supporting Adam Laxalt,” she added, calling on other moderate Democrats to cast a vote for Laxalt in the upcoming midterms.

“So if you’re a common sense, independent-minded Democrat, I want to ask you to join me in getting America back on track. On Election Day, vote for Adam Laxalt for U.S. Senate.”

In response, Laxalt thanked her and applauded her for breaking with the Democratic Party, calling it “a brave decision.”

“Tulsi Gabbard saw that our country was headed in the wrong direction under the control of the Democrat Party and made the brave decision to walk away from their party. I am honored to have Tulsi Gabbard’s support in this race and I look forward to campaigning with her on the trail in Las Vegas this week.”

Gabbard’s endorsement came when Laxalt is barely ahead of Masto among all voters and ahead by double digits with unaffiliated and Hispanic voters, according to recent polling.

Laxalt and Gabbard hosted a rally in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Oct. 28.

Prior to Laxalt, Gabbard has stumped for other Republican candidates including Don Bolduc, a former Army general from New Hampshire, Arizona gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake, Arizona Senate nominee Blake Masters, and Michigan gubernatorial nominee Tudor Dixon.
