Trump’s Triumphal Arch faces new lawsuit from Arlington County
A Virginia county filed a lawsuit on Thursday to oppose President Donald Trump’s proposed monument in Washington, D.C., which is planned to honor the U.S. 250th anniversary adn feature a Triumphal Arch between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. The monument has cleared most regulatory steps but awaits a final approval from the National Capital Planning Commission scheduled for November 5.
A Virginia county on Thursday filed a lawsuit challenging President Donald Trump’s proposed new monument in Washington, D.C., marking the latest opposition to the soaring Triumphal Arch.
Trump is looking to construct the Arch between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery, in honor of the United States’ 250th anniversary. The monument has already cleared most regulatory hurdles, but faces a final vote of approval from the National Capital Planning Commission on Nov. 5.
