Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan District Attorney, has filed a potential prosecution against Trump, with the former leader claiming that his incarceration is about to happen. Trump would be the first previous leader to be charged with a crime, but it’s doubtful that he would spend time in prison. He wouldn’t be the first candidate to run for president while incarcerated, though, if he did.
Eugene V. Debs was found guilty of insurrection in 1918 for opposing US presence in World War I and given a 10-year sentence; however, President Warren Harding commuted his sentence to occasion served in 1921. Debs ran for president as a socialist candidate the previous year during the 1920 national vote period, and while incarcerated, he received nearly 1 million votes.
According to Debs’ author Nick Salvatore,” Debs ran in 1920 with the belief that he would never win, but to develop and strengthen the Communist occasion.”
Former Rep. James Traficant( D-OH ) had thought about running for president in the 2004 election, despite the fact that Debs is currently the only candidate to do so while incarcerated. After being found guilty of criminal, corruption, and tax evasion in a federal court in 2002, Trafficant was expelled from the House. While incarcerated, the man made an unsuccessful attempt to run for his seat in the house once more.
Trump has asserted that the prosecution is politically motivated and based on unfounded accusations in response to a potential indictment. The former president has specifically attacked Bragg, describing him as a” degenerate psychopath” who” truly” despises the United States.
What kind of girl could accuse someone else, in this case a former president of the United States who received more votes than any other president in history and was by far the front-runner! When it is widely known that NO Crime has been committed and that the possibilities for death and destruction in such a misleading cost could be disastrous for our Country, why would the Republican Party nominate someone for the position? Early on Friday night, Trump wrote in a Truth Social posting.
