Trump will head to Walter Reed for his annual physical
President Donald Trump is scheduled to visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday for his annual physical and dental checkup, his third visit there in the past year. The appointment had been posted on his public schedule and is expected to involve routine medical and dental evaluations, along with screening that annual presidential physicals often include (such as blood work, cardiovascular, vision/hearing, neurological, and mobility assessments). The White House has not specified exactly which tests he will get, though cognitive screening is sometimes part of these exams.
trump previously visited Walter Reed in April and October 2025, and saw his dentist in West Palm Beach twice this year. The visit is likely to draw extra scrutiny because Trump turns 80 next month and is the oldest president inaugurated in U.S. history. Concerns about his age and fitness were a major issue in the 2024 campaign, fueled by public questions about his stamina, cognition, and health-along with photos that showed bruising on his hands and swelling in his legs. The administration said the hand bruises came from routine handshaking, and Trump was later diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency after leg swelling prompted medical evaluation.
Presidents are not required by law to disclose medical records, so what the public ultimately learns from the Tuesday visit remains uncertain. After an April physical, Trump said he “aced” a cognitive test and the White house said he was in “excellent health.” In October, a follow-up visit included a CT scan to examine his cardiovascular and abdominal health, with a White House physician maintaining he remained in excellent overall health. Trump’s medical disclosures have faced criticism in past remarks, including statements from his former physician about his health and “incredible genes,” and also Trump’s repeated references to cognitive test results during earlier physicals.
