Trump trial: Twelve jurors selected in New York hush money case

The third day of former President Donald Trump‘s hush money trial concluded with the seating of 12 jurors and one alternate, leaving five alternate spots left to fill.

By the end of the day Thursday, the full dozen jurors needed for the trial were sworn in, though two others who were initially sworn in were dismissed earlier in the day.

Numerous prospective jurors were excused promptly after acknowledging their inability to remain fair and impartial given the politically charged nature of the trial.

With both the defense and prosecution now left with only a few remaining strikes each, the selection process intensifies as the search for the five remaining alternates continues.

It is possible that more seated jurors could still drop out at this point, given that earlier in the day, one was dismissed over her concerns about being impartial and another was dismissed over questions about his credibility.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
