Trump swaps Biden for autopen in new presidential walk of fame
The article reports that the Trump white House has introduced a new “Presidential Walk of Fame” display on the West Wing Colonnade featuring portraits of all 47 U.S.presidents. Though, rather of displaying a traditional portrait of President joe Biden, the exhibit mockingly shows an image of an autopen-a device used to sign documents automatically-in his place. This move is seen as a jab at Biden amid ongoing investigations by the Trump governance and the House Oversight Commitee into Biden’s use of the autopen, specifically whether important documents like executive orders or pardons were signed without his full awareness. The article also notes recent testimony from Biden’s former chief of staff,Jeff Zients, suggesting Biden’s decision-making slowed during the final period of his presidency. The display and the accompanying commentary by Trump aide Margo Martin on social media highlight the continuing political tensions between the Trump and Biden administrations.
Trump White House swaps Biden for autopen in new Presidential Walk of Fame
The Trump White House mocked former President Joe Biden in its new Presidential Walk of Fame, displaying an image of an autopen as the 46th president’s portrait.
The Presidential Walk of Fame is the newest addition to the White House, located on the West Wing Colonnade. It displays portraits of all 47 presidents, though President Joe Biden‘s portrait was absent from the lineup.
Special assistant and communications adviser to President Donald Trump, Margo Martin, posted a video on X that slowly pans across the row of portraits to show the autopen in the former president’s place.
“The Presidential Walk of Fame has arrived on the West Wing Colonnade. Wait for it…,” Margo Martin said on X.
The White House’s knock against Biden comes as the Trump administration and the House Oversight Committee investigate the last administration’s use of the presidential autopen. The committee is investigating whether any documents, including executive orders or pardons, were signed using Biden’s name without his full awareness.
