Trump criticizes GOP candidate Will Hurd for saying he’s running to avoid prison.
Former President Donald Trump Fires Back at Will Hurd’s Accusation
Former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back in his response to former Rep. Will Hurd of Texas, who claimed that Trump is only running for president to avoid going to prison. Hurd, who is running for the Republican presidential nomination, made the accusation during a recent event in Iowa.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform to express his thoughts on the matter. He called Hurd a “little known, failed former Congressman” and criticized his performance in Congress. Trump also mentioned that Hurd was booed off the stage when he made the accusation.
Hurd, who previously announced that he would not seek another term in Congress, stood by his statement and emphasized the need for GOP presidential contenders to challenge Trump.
Real leadership is standing up and fighting for what’s right for America. It’s not tiptoeing around Donald Trump. Anyone who idly sits back and doesn’t call him out is only enabling him. https://t.co/GfRTLo9PPL

Hurd’s comments didn’t sit well with the crowd either. He faced boos and jeers when he accused Trump of running to stay out of prison.

Despite the backlash, Hurd stood his ground and reiterated his belief that Trump’s motivation for running is to avoid legal consequences. He argued that nominating Trump would result in another four years of Joe Biden’s presidency, which he believes America cannot handle.
Public Opinion Poll: Do You Agree with Trump or Hurd?
During his Iowa presentation, Trump dismissed the indictments against him as political maneuvers. He argued that if he wasn’t running for president or losing by a significant margin, no one would be coming after him.
Trump wasn’t the only target of criticism in Iowa. Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson also took a jab at him, highlighting the pending criminal cases against Trump and calling for a new direction for the GOP.
Trump responded to Hutchinson’s comments on his Truth Social platform, questioning Hutchinson’s credibility and accusing him of playing into the hands of Marxists.
The ongoing feud between Trump and his critics continues to make headlines, with each side standing firm in their beliefs.
