Trump slams conservative Supreme Court justices after mail-in voting ruling
president Donald Trump criticized the U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative justices for upholding an injunction that prevents mail-in ballot restrictions before the midterm elections,claiming the Court let the country down and accused some justices of being intimidated by Democrats. Trump expressed disappointment with the Court’s 7-2 decision to deny his emergency request to lift a lower court injunction that blocked the USPS from enforcing new mail-in voting rules and envelope design requirements, with justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissenting. He criticized the court’s conservative majority, suggesting they had betrayed his conservative judicial expectations and blamed recent rulings for set-backs to America. Trump also denounced the court’s rulings on othre issues,including the nullification of efforts to end birthright citizenship and tariffs exceeding presidential authority,alleging these decisions cost the U.S. trillions of dollars. Despite his opposition, the high court’s decision means efforts to enforce stricter mail-in voting restrictions for upcoming elections will not proceed. Attorney General Todd Blanche is expected to comment further on the rulings.
President Donald Trump denounced some of the Supreme Court’s conservative justices for ruling to keep in place an injunction that blocks mail-in ballot restrictions before the midterm elections.
“The Supreme Court has really let our Country down!” Trump wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post Tuesday morning. “Certain Justices are petrified of these crazed and depraved Democrats, and are totally unable to show the courage necessary to save our America.”

In a 7-2 ruling, the high court denied the Trump administration’s emergency request to lift an injunction from U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani of Boston, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, that blocked the U.S. Postal Service from enforcing new mail-in voting rules and envelope design requirements.
Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, an appointee of former President George H.W. Bush, and Samuel Alito, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, were the two votes against keeping the injunction in place.
The president did not name the four conservative justices who sided against him — Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett — but suggested his three appointees to the court had betrayed him. He appointed Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett in his first term.
“This Supreme Court is bullied and cajoled by the Radical Left into making decisions that have set America back at least a hundred years,” Trump wrote. “These are not the people I interviewed to serve on the United States Supreme Court, they are merely a shell of their original selves, a Court that is costing the United States Trillions of Dollars with shockingly bad rulings that are of such magnitude that it won’t be easily possible for our Country to recover or heal.”
Kavanaugh sided with the majority but wrote separately to say that he thinks “at least a fair prospect that the final rule falls within the Postal Service’s statutory authority.”
Kavanaugh argued that trying to enforce the rule for the 2026 elections was too soon and “would be arbitrary and capricious in violation of the Administrative Procedure Act because state and local election officials do not have sufficient time to reasonably implement the rule before the elections.”
Trump was not impressed with the argument and claimed it would allow fraud to corrupt the elections, even as experts say the November contests are safe and secure.

“Republicans just got another bad decision from the United States Supreme Court, one that the Court System took forever to give, and then blamed it, in part, on no time left to implement a solution to our totally CORRUPT and out of control Mail-In voting ‘disaster,’ which is a laughing stock all over the World, and where we are the only country that has to endure such a Nation Destroying SCAM,” Trump wrote. “Justices Alito and Thomas, legends both, strongly disagreed with this horrible, highly political, ruling.”
The president also took aim at the high court for other previous rulings against his administration, including striking down efforts to end birthright citizenship and ruling that the “Liberation Day” tariffs on most U.S. trade partners exceeded Trump’s authority.
“Their horrible decision on Tariffs will be costing the U.S.A., for many years to come, Trillions and Trillions of Dollars,” Trump wrote. “They didn’t even state, ‘money paid does not have to be paid back,’ much to the benefit of entities that truly hate our Country, and have been RIPPING IT OFF FOR YEARS, unnecessarily costing us, immediately, Billions of Dollars. Likewise, the Supreme Court’s Decision on Birthright Citizenship is a complete and total disaster for America, and has already led to massive corruption with respect to ‘citizenship’ in our Country.”
Attorney General Todd Blanche is set to brief the press in the afternoon and could also weigh in on the Supreme Court’s ruling. But for now, Trump’s efforts to limit mail-in voting this election cycle will not move forward.
