Trump says the only AI regulation needed is a ‘High IQ’ president
President Donald Trump expressed skepticism about the need for additional artificial intelligence regulations, dismissing them as unnecessary. He emphasized that the U.S. has strong leadership in the form of a “high IQ” president to oversee AI development. Trump also claimed that his administration has taken steps to prevent AI entities,like Anthropic,from engaging in harmful activities,asserting continued efforts in this area.
President Donald Trump downplayed the importance of more artificial intelligence regulations as some major AI company CEOs call for an internationally coordinated development slowdown.
“The only control or ‘guardrails’ that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Monday. “The Trump Administration has stopped AI ‘people’ from doing bad, or potentially bad, ‘things,’ like Dario (Anthropic!), who is now pretending to be a ‘perfect little angel’ – and we will continue to do so!”
