He expressed optimism about the party’s future and urged voters to support Republicans. Trump says Republican Party ‘never been so united’

President Donald Trump hailed the state of the Republican Party on Sunday, suggesting it is the most “united” it has ever been.

Trump made the remark in a Truth Social post that including him dismissing the resignation announcement of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), a former top ally of the president’s who had a public falling out with him and will now leave Congress in January.

“The Republican Party has never been so UNITED AS IT iS RIGHT NOW! Other than Rand Paul, Rand Paul Jr.(Massie!), Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown, and a couple of other ‘lowlifes,’ and other than the fact that many want the Election threatening Filibuster TERMINATED (the Dems will do it in the first minute of their first chance!), and some don’t, there is great spirit and cohesion,” Trump posted. “Plus, the Republican Party is MUCH BIGGER than it was when I announced in 2015 or, ever was before – Many Millions More Members! We now have the Strongest Border EVER, Biggest Tax Cuts, the Best Economy, Highest Stock Market in USA History, and sooo much more. BUT, THE BEST IS YET TO COME! VOTE REPUBLICAN!!!”

While Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) have frequently been thorns in Trump’s side this term, particularly over his tax megabill and the Epstein files, Greene’s public divorce from the president was stunning.

It marked a split with a vocal MAGA figure who was very close to Trump. Greene only recently became critical of the president, specifically over foreign policy, healthcare costs, and the Epstein files.

That seemingly marked the end of their relationship, with Trump saying Greene “lost her way” and then quickly pulled his endorsement of her. Trump also gloated over her resignation from Congress, initially calling it “great news for the country.”

Paul and Massie, though, have lamented the end of Greene’s time in the House, with the former calling for more “independent voices” in the GOP.
