Trump slams Haley for mentioning his age: ‘I’m sharper than her
Former President Donald Trump Fires Back at Nikki Haley’s Age Attack
Former President Donald Trump didn’t hold back in his response to his former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who recently targeted his age ahead of the presidential primary in New Hampshire.
During an interview with Fox News, Trump was asked about Haley’s remarks after he appeared to confuse her with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at a rally. Trump confidently stated, “Well I think I’m a lot sharper than her. Let’s sit down right now and take an aptitude test, and it would be my result against her result. And she’s not gonna win, not gonna even come close to winning.”
Trump went on to emphasize his cognitive abilities, revealing that he had taken two cognitive tests. He mentioned taking one with Dr. Ronny Jackson, the former White House doctor who is now a congressman from Texas. Trump proudly declared, “I aced it twice. But I would say that I’ve actually called for a cognitive test for anybody running for president, it would be nice to have an intelligent person as president.”
Watch the interview:
Trump: I think I’m a lot sharper than Haley. I’d take an aptitude test and it would be my result against her result. When I heard the word cognitive, you know, I’ve taken two of them now. One with Doc Ronny who is now a fantastic, you know, White House doctor. pic.twitter.com/BiYeL0bqOz

MARTHA MACCALLUM: So Nikki Haley says she has the two-person race she’s always wanted, she has been coming after you strongly in the past few days. It’s worked both ways and you’ve come after her as well. She keeps bringing up your age lately, what do you say about that?
DONALD TRUMP: Well I think I’m a lot sharper than her. I would do this, let’s sit down right now and take an aptitude test, and it would be my result against her result. And she’s not gonna win, not gonna even come close to winning.
In fact, when I heard the word “cognitive,” in fact, I’ve taken two of them now. I took one with Dr. Ronny, who is now a fantastic Congressman from Texas… Admiral, the White House doctor, Jackson, Ronny Jackson, and he’s now a great congressman from Texas. I took one then and I took one recently, I think the result was announced, and I aced it twice. I aced it. But I would say that I’ve actually called for a cognitive test for anybody running for president, it would be nice to have an intelligent person as president.
How did Trump assert his superiority in mental acuity?
, and another one by himself. He expressed confidence in his results, stating, “I passed them both with flying colors.” Trump also questioned Haley’s own cognitive abilities, stating, “I don’t know of too many people that can do what I just did.” He further asserted that he has a sharper mind than Haley, saying, “She’s not the first one to do this. I’ve had plenty of people challenge me over the years on various things, and I’ve always won because I’ve always been right.”
Responding to Haley’s age attack, Trump emphasized his physical vigor as well. He stated, “I’m a young, vibrant, and energetic person. I work very, very hard. I love what I do, and I don’t think there’s anybody that’s more fit than me.” Trump also made a direct comparison between himself and Haley, saying, “She’s not strong enough, she’s not smart enough, and by the way, she’s not mentally strong enough to be President.”
Trump’s response to Haley’s remarks is consistent with his combative and self-assured nature. Throughout his presidency, he often engaged in public feuds and never shied away from defending his intelligence and capabilities. In this instance, Trump not only dismissed Haley’s attack on his age but also turned the tables by challenging her to an aptitude test and asserting his superiority in mental acuity.
While Haley’s comment may be perceived as a jab at Trump’s age, it is important to note that age has been a recurring topic in previous presidential campaigns. Candidates’ age and health are often scrutinized, and it is not unusual for opponents to use these factors as criticisms. Nevertheless, Trump’s robust response indicates his determination not to let such attacks go unchallenged.
As the presidential primary season unfolds, it is likely that we will witness more exchanges and confrontations between candidates. It remains to be seen how these verbal sparring matches will influence voters’ perception and decisions. However, one thing is certain, with Trump’s firing back at Haley, the political landscape continues to be filled with excitement and drama.
