Trump reports NBC’s Kristen Welker to FCC for ‘rebuke and punishment’

Trump criticized Welker and mainstream media for what he perceives as unfair, inaccurate reporting aimed at diminishing his achievements.He insisted his endorsement success rate is among the highest in political history and highlighted the importance of his endorsements in recent primary wins. Trump also warned that the media and “Radical left news” are dishonestly attacking him, and he called on the FCC to address what he considers biased commentary on public airwaves. In a Sunday post on Truth Social, Trump voiced his outrage over comments Welker made minutes before, when she said Trump had “mixed results” on his success rate in endorsing candidates in Republican primaries. As the president pointed out, his success rate is in the high 90s for the 2026 election cycle.

The president pointed to the victories of Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) and former Oklahoma state Sen. Mike Mazzei in their respective primaries following Trump’s endorsement as prime cases of his endorsement’s power.

Trump’s numbers largely check out, as the 2026 cycle has seen one of his highest endorsement success records outside of a few rare cases, such as MyPillow founder Mike Lindell’s defeat in deep-blue Minnesota and Rep. Andy Ogles’s (R-TN) loss in Tennessee.
