Trump indictment: Josh Hawley calls for investigation into DOJ and ‘dark money network’

Senator Josh Hawley, a Republican from Missouri, has called for investigations into the Justice Department and its Attorney General, Merrick Garland. This follows the news that a grand jury in Manhattan has voted to indict former President Donald Trump.

Speaking on the Jesse Watters Primetime show, Hawley stated:

“It’s time that we said no further. We have to call Merrick Garland from the Justice Department down to the Capitol. We got to call him onto the carpet, put him under oath. Find out what they’re doing. Has DOJ cooperated in this? Are they aiding this prosecution? We have to go after these Soros prosecutors who have been put into office all across the country and expose the dark money network that has gotten them into power.”

Following rumors, the grand jury recently moved to indict Trump for charges believed to relate to a $130,000 hush money payment made during the 2016 cycle. Trump’s indictment is unprecedented, as no other president has faced such charges.

According to Hawley, this move represents a show of “raw power” by the Democrats, who are determined to do everything in their power to prevent a conservative movement and a potential Republican presidential victory in 2024.

Hawley explained:

“These are the same people who have sent SWAT teams to pro-life activists, who use the FBI against parents at school board meetings. They will do anything, use any kind of power to try and hold on to their own privileges, their own positions. This is just unprecedented in American history. The only way out now is to win.”
