Trump targets judge before family’s fraud case testimony: ‘Leave my kids be’
Former President Donald Trump Criticizes Judge Ahead of Children’s Testimony
Former President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on Judge Arthur Engoron as his adult children prepared to testify in his fraud case in New York. Trump Jr. is scheduled to testify on Wednesday, followed by Eric Trump the next day. Taking to Truth Social, Trump labeled the trial as “rigged” and called for the judge to leave his children alone, accusing him of being ”a disgrace to the legal profession.”
“This Rigged Trial, brought by the Racist New York State A.G. Letitia James before Trump and developer Hating Judge, Arthur Engoron, which should have never been brought in that the so-called STAR WITNESS, SleazeBag Lawyer (for many people) Michael Cohen, admitted last week on the stand that he LIED, and also that your favorite President, Donald J. Trump, or anyone from the Trump Organization, NEVER TOLD HIM TO INFLATE VALUES ON FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, the opposite of what he told the A.G. in order to get this HOAX started. Therefore, on that fact alone, this Fake Case should be dismissed,” Trump said.
“Additionally, however, the Financial Statements Values are Conservative (LOW!), Mar-a-Lago is worth MUCH MORE than $18,000,000, there is a 100% Disclaimer Clause on the 1st page of the Statements, the Banks and Insurance Companies were paid in full, no defaults, they all made money, and there is no Victim (except me!). Leave my children alone, Engoron. You are a disgrace to the legal profession!” he added.
Donald Trump himself is expected to testify next week, and his daughter Ivanka is also set to testify. Engoron ordered Ivanka Trump to testify in person, stating his desire to see her firsthand. Although initially part of the lawsuit against the Trump Organization, Ivanka was later dismissed from the case by an appeals court in June.
The lawsuit, filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James, accuses the Trump Organization of fraud and seeks $250 million in damages. James also aims to prevent Donald Trump from conducting business in New York. Engoron has already found Trump liable for the fraud claims, and the nonjury trial will now proceed to examine the six claims brought by James.

What led to Donald Trump’s call for Judge Arthur Engoron to recuse himself from the fraud case?
Recuse himself.
The animosity between Donald Trump and Judge Arthur Engoron escalated as the former president criticized the judge just days before his adult children were set to testify in his fraud case. Donald Trump Jr. is scheduled to take the stand on Wednesday, followed by Eric Trump the next day. In a blistering attack launched on Truth Social, Trump accused the trial of being “rigged” and called for the judge to recuse himself.
This controversy arises from the ongoing investigation into the Trump Organization’s financial practices. The Manhattan District Attorney’s office has been probing allegations of potential fraud committed by the organization and its top executives. As the legal proceedings continue, tensions between Trump and the judiciary have reached a boiling point.
Judge Arthur Engoron, who presides over this case, has found himself at the receiving end of Trump’s ire. The former president has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with the judge’s handling of the trial. Trump’s criticism of Engoron is not without precedent; throughout his tenure in the Oval Office, he frequently clashed with the judiciary, voicing his discontent over unfavorable rulings.
By launching a scathing attack on Engoron, Trump exhibits a pattern of undermining the integrity of the legal system. Such behavior raises concerns about the former president’s respect for the principles that underpin the rule of law. Regardless of the verdict in this case, Trump’s actions may cultivate a negative perception of the judiciary and erode public trust in the justice system.
Furthermore, Trump’s call for Engoron’s recusal adds another layer of controversy to an already contentious trial. Recusal is a process by which a judge disqualifies themselves from a case due to a conflict of interest or bias. While it is within a defendant’s rights to request recusal, these requests should typically be based on legitimate grounds, such as a judge’s personal relationship with a party involved in the case. Trump’s call for recusal without clear justification may be seen as an attempt to discredit the judge and cast doubt on the legitimacy of the trial.
This public feud between Trump and Engoron underscores the larger issue of judicial independence. Judges must be allowed to perform their duties without fear of intimidation or interference from external parties. The impartiality and fairness of the judiciary are fundamental to the functioning of a democratic society, ensuring that justice is served without political influence.
As Trump’s children prepare to testify in this high-profile case, the spotlight intensifies on Judge Engoron. It is imperative that he remains steadfast in his commitment to upholding the rule of law and delivering justice. Likewise, it is crucial for all involved parties to respect the integrity of the legal process and refrain from making baseless attacks on judges or attempting to undermine the judicial system.
Ultimately, the outcome of this case will have far-reaching implications, not only for Donald Trump and his family but also for the credibility of the justice system itself. It is imperative that justice be served impartially, leaving no room for allegations of bias or impropriety. The world will be watching closely as this trial unfolds, hoping for a fair and just resolution that upholds the principles of transparency and accountability.
