Trump calls WH reporter ‘dumb person’ for ballroom question
During a question session at the White House, President Donald Trump responded to a reporter’s request for comment on the ballroom budget by calling the reporter a “dumb person” and saying she was “not a smart person.” He made his remarks while addressing claims that the White House ballroom project’s costs had risen and described the project as having “doubled” in size, stating it is indeed now about twice the size and ahead of schedule.
Trump previously defended the higher ballroom costs on Truth Social, while the project-initially announced in July 2025 with an estimated cost of $200 million-now has a revised estimate of $400 million.
