Former President Donald Trump expressed confusion as to why he wasn’t set to win the presidential election in a landslide, suggesting that it was due to Democrats voting “out of habit.”

In an interview on Dr. Phil Primetime on Merit Street Media, Trump sought to explain why he wasn’t polling well with some groups. In his view, it was due to Democratic voters voting “out of habit.”

“Well, I think it’s, to a certain extent, it’s habit, not necessarily against me,” he explained. “I think Democrats vote out of habit. I’ll give you an example — I was the best president for Israel ever. Golan Heights, all of the things I did for Israel, and yet I get less than 50% of the votes. It’s shocking to me. And Biden’s a disaster. And Obama was a disaster for Israel, with the Iran nuclear deal that he approved … which was basically a path toward nuclear weapons.”

Dr. Phil told Trump he should be running unopposed because of how successful his administration was. He asks Trump why some people nevertheless oppose him. Trump complains that he was “the best president for Israel ever” but doesn’t get enough of the Jewish vote pic.twitter.com/pYPbuNPoul

“And I say, why? And I say, it’s habit,” Trump said. “They’re used to voting for Democrats.”

He also pointed to black voters traditionally voting for Democrats but shifting in recent years.

“Black people are used to voting for Democrats, but they’re coming off it,” Trump said. “They’re smart, they’re seeing what’s happened. They’re seeing criminal justice reform, they’re seeing the black colleges and universities.”

Trump has made similar remarks in the past, particularly focusing on Jewish voters. He recently said that any Jew who votes for Biden “have to have their head examined.”
