Trump’s lawyer accuses Fulton County DA of seeking attention with upcoming indictment.
Trump’s Attorney Accuses Fulton County DA of Corruption
Donald Trump’s attorney, Alina Habba, has made a bold accusation against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, labeling her a “corrupt DA” in anticipation of an impending indictment against the former president.
Excitement is building in Atlanta as preparations are underway for the filing of the indictment at the Fulton County Courthouse. To accommodate this significant event, Pryor Street SW, the nearby road leading to the courthouse, will be closed from Monday at 5 a.m. until Aug. 18.

Habba, confident in her claims, points to the road closures as a clear indication that the indictment is imminent. “I think if you look at the barricades, the fact that she’s got her PR team doing fresh pictures for her, it’s a good indicator that Fani wants her moment, and she will get on the bandwagon with the rest of the corrupt DAs and AGs that we’ve seen out of this country,” Habba stated.
As the general counsel of Trump’s super PAC, Habba also addressed the mounting legal fees associated with the former president’s three current indictments. While acknowledging that “tens and tens of millions of dollars” have been spent, she emphasized Trump’s independent wealth and his commitment to funding his own defense. “If I have to spend my own money, I will,” Trump has declared at rallies.
However, Habba expressed concerns about the trial dates set for 2024 due to the special clearance required for attorneys to handle classified documents at the center of the case. “It’s a poorly planned attack, frankly, because that’s what it is, it’s political lawfare. And [Jack Smith] didn’t think it through. So, I think these are going to take a lot longer,” Habba explained. “Look at Fani, two years. She’s bringing this case now? Why? Because of election interference. They want to keep [Trump] tied up in trials, keep his lawyers tied up so that we’re distracted and not focused. It’s not gonna work, he is a machine, and he knows what he’s doing in a campaign.”

If an indictment is indeed filed by Willis, it would mark the fourth indictment against the former president.
Willis has been serving as the district attorney since 2020. Although she faced a Democratic opponent in the primary election, she ultimately ran unopposed in the general election. Her reelection is scheduled for next year.
