Several of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s former colleagues at the Natural Resources Defense Council, a climate activist group, are calling on the independent presidential candidate to drop out of the race.

Kennedy previously worked as a lawyer for the NRDC and has touted his experience as an environmental lawyer in his third-party candidacy, which both former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden are reportedly concerned could hurt their electoral odds. The political arm of the group, which has endorsed Biden, announced Friday that it will be running full-page advertisements against RFK Jr. in six newspapers in swing states on Sunday.

“We have spent our careers fighting to protect the planet and its people. As current and former leadership and board members of the NRDC Action Fund, as well as former colleagues of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., we have one message for him: Honor our planet, drop out,” the advertisement read.

The group described Kennedy’s candidacy as “dangerous” and pointed to Trump saying that he is “great for MAGA.”

“Kennedy is playing a dangerous spoiler role that could benefit Trump,” Manish Bapna, the president and CEO of the NRDC Action Fund, said in a statement.

“Joe Biden is the real environmental candidate in this race. He has taken more climate action than any US President in history. Meanwhile Kennedy’s campaign staffers have made clear they are trying to syphon votes away from the President,” Bapna said. “Polling shows he has no path to the White House, so if Kennedy is serious about protecting the planet, the time to drop out is now.”
